Welcome to Llangollen Hostel

We offer clean and comfortable accommodation with modern facilities, in a Victorian town house.

We are located in the centre of Llangollen, a stone’s throw from the river Dee, the Llangollen Canal with its horse drawn boat rides, the Llangollen steam railway and Castell Dinas Bran. The town has an abundance of independent shops, cafe’s, bistros, pubs and restaurants. It is home to the annual International Eisteddfod, which is a festival of music, dance, and arts.  We are approximately an hour’s drive to Snowdonia, 20 mins to Wrexham and half an hour to Chester.

Bedrooms: All are now for sole use – you will not be sharing with anyone else – and we have tea and coffee in each.  We also have a fully-fitted kitchen for everyone’s use.

Once you’ve prepared your meals you can enjoy them in the dining room, then relax in the lounge by the log burner. We have a book exchange, free wi-fi internet, games for adults and children, laundry facilities, a drying room, plus bicycle and kayak storage.

Dogs:  We have one dog-friendly room available, which is on our ground floor – to enquire please call us on 01978 861773.  We don’t allow dogs in the kitchen/dining room, sorry..

The hostel is a great base for walkers, who wish to explore the magnificent Vale of Llangollen, the Berwyn mountains, the Clwydian range and for those walking the Offa’s Dyke footpath, also known as the National Trail. For the more adventurous, there is some superb mountain biking in the area, and we’re only a 15 minute drive from the fantastic mountain biking centre at Llandegla forest.  The river Dee boasts some fantastic white water, and is a haven for kayakers and canoeists, or those looking to take the plunge and try white water rafting or tubing.  The Eglwyseg cliffs above the town offer some of the best limestone climbs in the area. Other activities include gorge walking, fishing, golf, trail riding and many more.

At Llangollen Hostel you’re assured of a happy and comfortable stay and freedom to come and go as you please.
